RSTAR Affinity Gateway
The RSTAR Affinity gateway receives telemetry from RSTAR Affinity data loggers through LoRa radio. The data is forwarded to the RSTAR Affinity cloud server through wired internet, Wi-Fi, LTE, or to an on-premise server through local ISM radio.
The RSTAR Affinity gateway enables secure wireless communication between data loggers and the RSTAR Affinity browser-based dashboard and mobile application so sensor data can be transmitted and analyzed.
RSTAR Affinity Data Logger
The RSTAR Affinity data logger is designed to connect a variety of field analogue and digital sensors to the RSTAR Affinity web-based dashboard. Each data logger can be configured to support up to five instruments of varying types.
Instrument and data logger configuration is mediated through secure and authenticated Bluetooth (BLE).
Instrument readings are communicated in real-time by a low-power wide area network (LPWAN) through an RSTAR Affinity gateway. LPWAN protocols supported include LoRaWAN for long-range outdoor applications (up to 15 km).
Standalone data logging is supported by the synching of instrument data by local authenticated download in the RSTAR Affinity Field app.
RSTAR L900 Wireless Data Acquisition for Geotechnical Instruments
The RSTAR Array Radio Series uses wireless technology to provide automated data acquisition. A complete RSTAR L900 System uses L900 RSTAR Nodes at the sensor level, deployed in a star topology from a continuously active L900 RSTAR Hub, which consists of an L900 RTU interfaced to a FlexDAQ Data Logger. The RSTAR Array Radio Series is based on the 900 MHZ, 868 MHz, and 2.4 GHz spread spectrum band (country dependent) with an extensive open-country range through the use of simple dipole or directional antennae.
The power requirement for a single RSTAR L900 node is one lithium standard cell. The FlexDAQ can be powered by a solar panel, batteries, or AC power.
